Designed for children aged 7 – 13 years, the Grassroots Trust Kids Challenge offers a memorable event experience and is a fantastic vehicle for educating kids about the importance of health, exercise and wellbeing. The event is delivered in conjunction with Sport Waikato’s Team Energize and attracts over 700 children every year.

The Grassroots Trust Kids Challenge is for kids only. The course is supervised by event staff and Team Energize and is designed to be completely safe for children to participate in on their own. Parents cheering on along the side line, however, is greatly encouraged!

Prizegiving

All kids who complete the Kids Challenge will receive a medal. Prizegiving takes place at 10:35am on the Garden Place Main Stage.

Schools

School participation is a major element of Lugton’s Round the Bridges, with over 700 local kids choosing to take part each year. In order to help make it as easy as possible for schools to get involved in this year’s event, we’ve put together a comprehensive School Guide which explains everything you need to know, from the online entry process through to setting up a school team!

Important Information

Following the event, your finish times will be published online via our timing provider MyTime. From here, you can view and sort finish times via event category, age group and more. In order to ensure that your recorded finish time is accurate, please ensure that your race bib is properly secured to the front of your chest and that you line up in the correct start zone selected during the online entry process.

Please note that whilst MyTime endeavours to have all finish times published immediately after the event, it can take a few hours for some results to display accurately.

Spark Corporate Team Challenge

The Spark Corporate Team Challenge offers the chance for colleagues to come together and enter a team that represents the workplace. The fastest four team members’ finish times are combined and measured to find a winning team. This team takes home the Spark Corporate Team Challenge Trophy and bragging rights of being the fastest business in the city and at Lugton’s Round the Bridges!
